48th Annual Souers Meet

Fort Wayne, Indiana May 19-20, 2012

This year will include a special tour through the country to Huntington Indiana, where the 1966 Hudson Essex Terraplane National Meet was held. The Souers Brothers have purchased a building a block away from the site that is being use for antique auto storage. On the second floor of the three story building the brothers have moved 20 cars and their parts inventory. The first and third floor of the building is used for storage for other car collectors.

A theate will be set up on the first floor to view old movies from the 1966 meet and movies from the 1971 Fort Wayne National meet. These movies have never been shown before, and will add to the nestalga of being back in Huntington.

Schedule of Events

Saturday, May 19

8:00 am – 6:00 pm - Registration and Hospitality Room

8:00 am – 6:00 pm – Swap Meet

2:30 pm-- Country drive to Ed & Ha Souers storage facility and warehouse in Huntington, Indaina

4:00 pm –Movies in the Warehouse...National Meet Movies from 1966 in Huntington Indiana and 1971 in Fort Wayne Indiana will be shown theatre style in the Huntington building, just a block from where the 1966 HET national was hosted.

Sunday, May 20

8:00 am – 3:00 pm – Registration and Hospitality Room

8:00 am – 3:00 pm – Swap Meet

9:30 am – All you care to eat brunch at the Hotel

Restaurant $9.95 – adults $6.25 – children age 3 – 10

3:00 Head Home

The Annual Souers Hudson Meet started in 1965 and is one of the longest continuously running meets in the country.

The meet is in Fort Wayne, Indiana and will be a two-day event. The event is sponsored by the Northern Indiana-Ohio chapter of the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club, Inc.

The host hotel has a restaurant and lounge with other restaurants within walking distance. It also has an indoor and outdoor pool for the kids. There is ample room for car parking, and a giant parts area.

There is easy access from I-69, exit 111 or 112. Indiana’s largest shopping mall is just a couple miles away, as well as many other Fort Wayne attractions.

A cruise-in is being planned for Saturday night at a local drive in to help showcase the cars to the public.
